Creative Bourbon Cocktails Paired with Five-Course Meal and After-Party at The Blind Pig
The Southern Gentleman mixology team is already known for crafting the perfect bourbon-based cocktails to pair with its fresh, modern Southern cuisine from Executive Chef Danilo Q. Myers. On Oct. 18, the Southern-inspired gastropub is taking it up a notch when they welcome guest chefs Paras Shah and Jeffrey Weiss into their doors. Chef Paras is well known for his cooking in notable kitchens of the James Beard House, El Bulli, Per Se and Momofuku. Chef Weiss is the author of Charcutería: The Soul of Spain which garnered national and international awards, including a 2015 James Beard award nomination.
Together, Chefs Myers, Paras, and Weiss have created a menu inspired by and paired with bourbon. Courses include:
Foie gras mi-cuit
Dry rubbed stuffed quail with sweet potato gnocchi, smoked fennel bourbon cream
Kombu-cured grilled amberjack with maitake, sunchoke, dashi with elements of bourbon
Smoked leg of lamb with savory bourbon bread pudding, collard green kimchi, blackberry marmalade
The evening begins with passed appetizers such as crispy farro and smoked rabbit and ends with a dessert of bourbon zabaglione and brandy cider poached apple.
Bourbon pairings will include cocktails crafted with Blade and Bow, Bulleit Rye, I.W. Harper 15, Bulleit 10 Year, and Johnny Walker Gold.
Tickets for the five-course bourbon dinner are $132 per person (including tax and gratuity) and can be purchased at Eventbrite.com. Guests will also receive a special code to drink in the full-bodied speakeasy experience with an after-party at The Blind Pig.
